Vasaloppet, a mythical 90 km competition which on 90 km commemorates the escape of a rebel: Gustave
Vasa.
He was caught back in Sälen and lead the battle against the Danish invader. He then became a great king and the founder of the kingdom of Sweden.
More than 10000 people take part in the competition during the first week-end in March. Come and benefit of this track and of these superb landscapes by doing the Vasaloppet in stages.

Born in the Dalarna, has grown-up with skis on her feet. she has won 3 times the Olympic medal and is a Swedish champion in the cross-country skiing category. Today she shares her love for her country with foreign visitors Will you be the next one?
